Mentoring Services
Childhood and adolescence aren’t always easy for kids or their parents. There is no user manual or help button. Just when you think, “Hey, I’ve got this parenting thing down”, your kiddo hits a new stage (or attitude) and you realize, again, “I have no idea what I’m doing”. And, if you’ve been a parent long enough, you may have encountered the annoying phenomenon I call “Ridicumazing”—”If it comes from my parents, it’s ridiculous. If it comes from anyone else, it’s amazing.”
As a mentor, I can provide a little extra help or guidance. Some of the areas I can help with are interactions with peers, social skills, emotion regulation, self-esteem and self-awareness, navigating transitions from childhood to adolescence, teaching healthy behaviors and more.
Mentoring Services Fee - $35.00 for a one hour session, plus resources if needed (e.g. workbook or journal)
Tutoring Services
For many children school is a challenge. Some kids need more one-on-one attention in certain subjects. Sometimes a child just needs material presented in a different way. Or maybe you just want to give your child a little boost up. As a tutor I can help your child achieve their educational goals. Some subjects are reading (including phonics), writing (including grammar), math, social studies, science, history and more. I also provide help with study skills and organization.
I am especially good with teaching young children to read. I also have experience helping students who are struggling because English is their second language.
